Merchants and Affiliates- Benefits of Both

There are multiple interpretations to affiliate marketing yet all mean pretty much the same thing. In terms of a coordinated effort to bring together both the merchant and the affiliate, affiliate marketing is controlling a lot of the spotlight. As long as I've been involved in affiliate marketing it has proven to be a very reliable, economically feasible way of producing useful results. many webmasters employ it as a method to garner additional revenue for their online operation. More and more people are becoming interested in affiliate marketing and are trying to learn the necessary aspects to profit of it. Unfortunately, in many cases, first time affiliates don't comprehend enough of the basic affiliate tenants and make unnecessary mistakes.

An all too common misconception with respect to affiliate marketing is 'selling'. Although selling is tantamount to affiliate marketing and one of the main thrust of a business operation it is nothing more than one of the many aspects of online marketing.

Another misconception is that ‘advertising’ is of top importance in affiliate marketing. Although the importance of advertising in a particular product shouldn't be underestimated, the fact still remains, advertising like selling, is one of the many aspects of online marketing. The point is that NO particular aspect should be given priority over another.

Within affiliate marketing, an affiliate is paid for every subscriber, visitor and/or customer provided by way of his efforts. The amount paid forward can be predicated of a specific value for each visit. For those of you familiar with Pay Per Click this will ring a bell. An attractive feature of affiliate marketing from the viewpoint of the merchant is that NO payment will be due to an affiliate until that affiliate has shown qualitative results.

More often than not affiliate marketing is being run by affiliate networks and these affiliate networks are built upon two functional halves, the group affiliates comprising one and the group merchants comprising another. Each has their designated role in affiliate marketing. The affiliate network acts as a mediatory party between the merchant and the associated affiliates. Through this network, the technology is provided to deliver the merchant’s campaigns and offers. Another responsibility of the network is to collect commission fees from the merchant and then pay the affiliates, which are part of the program.

A merchant can be described as any web site owner that wants or desires to take advantage of results driven marketing. The merchant, in most cases is able to recieve a myriad of benefits. First, the merchant can maintain and operate the affiliate program. For the benefits to be extracted, the merchant needs to do a bit of research on interesting affiliate websites to ensure that they find a program that can assist in achieving their goals. Finding a good home for their merchandise would be the key to more generated income. As a merchant one has access to markets and consumers without spending valuable time searching about. Banner ads are another benefit. When used properly they can produce interest for that product and drive the consumer to the merchants’ website. The merchant is also given the ability to dictate how much he is willing to pay for every sale that is a result of a visitor sent from an affiliate.

The affiliate marketer has many benefits for himself as well. The affiliate can be described as a web site owner that promotes one or more merchants and their affiliate programs. There are many who use affiliate marketing to generate a full-time income for themselves. However, this is not an easy task to accomplish. The affiliate must have a clear understanding with the merchant as to - what the commission will be, time frame of contract and expected payment method. The affiliate is also responsible to solicit the merchandise their user based would be most interested in. For example, if a site has a user base composed of mainly stay-at-home mothers, then online job openings such as EBay reselling would be a good match for them. Another example would be to place links to children's products and informational sites. Merchants who are on top of their game will often provide targeted, best-seller items and personal support to their affiliate partners. They often offer sales promotions that will benefit both the merchandiser as well as the affiliate.

To give a better example of what I am explaining I provided this video illustrating how you can create Amazon affiliate links.

Affiliate marketing is a win-win situation for both the marketer and the affiliate. If a strong relationship is forged each can be a strong catalyst to each others business. For those of you online with fairly new business ventures this method is a fairly easy and inexpensive way to assist in generating revenue. Always keep in mind that there are many others on the net involved in affiliate marketing which is why there is no room for complacency.

Do your business the favor and ask yourself what can I offer to the consumer that is going to stand out from so many others businesses?

Regards,

Julian

Affiliate Marketing or Adsense?

Everybody wants to know.... "Which of the two earns more money?" There are tons of theories out there.. Some of which are backed by the proper research, and others that are based solely on speculation or short run-ins with affiliate marketing and/or pay per click advertising.

I've had my hand in both for quite some time now and can honestly tell you that what you put in is what you'll get out. I know it sounds cliche, but when it comes to earning money with affiliate marketing and adsense this phrase couldn't be any truer.

Think of the first time you encountered affiliate marketing (with an affiliate marketing mindset). I'm sure you thought (just like the rest of us) that you could put together a quick site, embed a few banners & links, and laugh your way to the bank!

Now, think back to when you were first introduced to pay per click advertising. Your thought process was probably very similar, if not the same.... "Great, I'll just place google adsense blocks throughout my site, promote it everywhere online, and be a millionaire by the weekend!"

That's the point where most people fall off. Right after that first week rolls by and you go check your earnings.. that's when reality sinks in: If you want to make money with affiliate marketing and/or pay per click advertising, you are going to have to spend a considerable amount of time writing, reading, and researching. No ands, ifs, or buts about it.

So when people ask me which one earns the most money, I simply tell them: Whichever one you work hardest at.

Affiliate Marketing w/ Sub-Affiliates

Recruiting sub-affiliates is (in most cases) the most beneficial thing you can do for your affiliate business. The reason I say " in most cases" is because it really depends on the quality of the sub affiliates you recruit.

There will be mainly two types of sub-affiliates on your roster at any given time:

First, you've got the casual internet surfer who stumbles upon your page through a series of affiliate marketing queries and thinks to him/herself: "hey, this'll be cool.. I'll be rich in No Time!." This type of sub-affiliate is useless to your business, they put up links and banners for a few days and then get frustrated and quit when they don't see any commission checks during their first week.

On the flip side of that, you will also have a few hard working, consistent, and thus highly beneficial sub-affiliates on your roster as well. These are not so easy to come by though.... You have to really put some effort and thought into how you go about recruiting your sub-affiliates if you want to acquire a sharp, willing-to-learn, ultra-responsive, dedicated network of affiliate marketers on your team.

A well developed team of sub-affiliates can really drive your commission payments through the roof. Study the following example for a look into the world of Affiliate Marketing with the help of Sub-Affiliates.

Imagine you have 50 sub affiliates who each make only 1 sale per month....

Let's say the original Product Price = $119.95

1st Level Commsion= $59.98

2nd Level Commision= $6.00

50 sub-affiliates x 1 sale per month= $300.00/monthly

Examine these other hypothetical situations:

100 sub-affiliates x 1 sale per month= $600.00/monthly

500 sub-affiliates x 1 sale per month= $3000.00/monthly

1000 sub-affiliates x 1 sale per month= $6000.00/monthly

Even if only half of your 1000 sub-affiliates make 1 sale per month, you'd still walk away with $3000 clean.

There are many ways to recruit high quality sub-affiliates. Just use your imagination and get creative, or if you prefer, you can ask the almighty Google for help..

eBay Leaves Commision Junction

EBay has officially divorced the Affiliate Network Giant Commission Junction. On April 1st eBay re-launched it's affiliate program, only this time it's going to be run in-house through what is now being called: the eBay Partner Network.

If you had previously signed up as an affiliate through Commission Junction you'll need to re-register and get accepted into the new program in order to participate. EBay also urges all affiliates who are migrating from the old program to the new one to create new banner advertisements and widgets instead of attempting to update the ones created under the Commission Junction housed program.

Payment Structure

EBay's "new" affiliate program gives it's members two options when it comes to getting paid.

One way to earn money is through eBay revenue; the way you earn a commission is when one of your referred users places a bid on an item or uses Buy It Now (BIN) within the first seven days of following your link.

The other way to earn affiliate commissions is when your referred visitor becomes a new active confirmed registered user or ACRU for short. In order for a user to be deemed as an ACRU, the visitor must have followed your affiliate link, registered on the site, confirmed their account and placed a bid on any item or used the Buy It Now feature within their first 30 days as members.

So How Much Do I Earn?

The amount of commission you make is based on a percentage of the fees earned by eBay associated with a winning bid by one of your referred users. It can get pretty in-depth to try to explain it, and the amount of the commission also varies depending on which site you sent the user to, as you have the option of sending your visitors to ebay US, Half.com, or a variety of other Countries' eBay websites. For a complete breakdown of commission payments, please visit the eBay Partner Network website.

Making Money with Joe Bucks & Organics

Surfing through the internet last night looking for new affiliate programs to join, I came across and interesting program from JoeBucks.com.

They offer a 50% revenue share program plus 5% of all referred webmasters & have over 50 different health and beauty websites that you can promote!

Another great thing about the Joe Bucks affiliate program is that they track all phone and mail order sales in addition to your online sales. They also claim to never take anything from your earnings for product returns.

Here is the JoeBucks Commission Schedule.

50% Commission Per Sale
50% Commission on all Re-Orders
5% Commission on Referred Webmaster Sales
Biweekly Payments on the 1st and 16th
No Minimums

I think the JoeBucks affiliate program is going to be a serious money earner! Their sites look very clean and professional and I love the fact that they have 1-800 numbers in the header of all their websites.

Allowing customers to order by dialing a 1-800 number is just wonderful. It opens so many doors as far as how you sell the products. Just put your imagination to work for a while and I'm sure that you can come up with a few good ideas on how to successfully market and sell JoeBucks affiliate products.

For more information on the Joebucks affiliate program, click here.

Zlio Shop Earnings - month #1

It's been a while since I've written anything about my zlio shop, so I figured I'd post a zlio shop report. I set my shop up about a month ago and so far it has earned me 0.28 cents from adsense clicks and I had two people sign up as sub-affiliates, or as zlio refers to them referees. I also had two people link to my shop.

I think that this affiliate program is one that will most likely yield nice results in a few months from now... who knows.. maybe even years.. After all, they do offer lifetime commissions on all of your sales and your referrals sales up to two levels deep.

I'm currently working on building up a nice amount of sub affiliates in order to make a serious attempt at earning money with zlio and their "5 minute shops".. Even though I've only earned 0.28 cents so far, I strongly believe that it's possible to earn a lot of money with Zlio.

I will post a Zlio Shop Update as soon as it's necessary... Stay tuned to this blog as I embark on my money earning journey with affiliate programs and online marketing. Don't forget to subscribe to my feed to receive new posts either by email or in your RSS feed reader.

Friend Finder Affiliate Progress

A couple months ago I wrote a blog post about the Adult Friend Finder affiliate program. It's a program that I had signed up for a while back and hadn't seen much success from.

Well here we are about two months later and still not much success from the program. I guess I only have myself to blame for it, as I haven't really made it a point to promote the program heavily yet. As a matter of fact, that blog post was the last time that I ever wrote about adult friend finder... haven't even mentioned it since.

I still don't doubt the earning potential that their program has. I mean c'mon they've got over 20 different dating sites that you can promote and the payout options are great, especially when compared to a lot of the other affiliate programs available on the web today.

If you haven't already, make sure to check out the adult friend finder affiliate program so that you can see for yourself all the great online dating websites that they have to offer.

Here is a list of just some of the websites that you will be able to promote once you join the adult friend finder affiliate program:

I plan on promoting the adult friend finder program pretty hard over the next few months, I'll be checking back in with another Friend Finder Affiliate Progress post as soon as I see a substantial increase in earnings.

I Can't Earn Money Online?

Since I've been blogging, I've had quite a few people tell me that I'm wasting my time, that if I use Adsense as a source of income I'm really just working for Google for peanuts, that earning money online was only for big corporations with huge budgets, and all sorts of other discouraging things.

It's like everywhere you turn there's someone there to tell you that you can't do what you're trying to do. It could be anybody, I've even read entire articles on blogs that were dedicated to discouraging others from blogging or running a website as a means of earning money.

The way I look at it is like this... Either you've made money on the web or you haven't. If you have, you most certainly wouldn't be telling me that I can't earn money online, and if you haven't... well, you get the picture.

About the whole Adsense thing, OK, so Google doesn't disclose the actual revenue generated per click... So what! It's still an opportunity to earn money that us webmasters and bloggers would not have available to us otherwise. So you should be grateful for the Adsense program. Instead of spending your time and energy bashing adsense, you should write a thank you email to google. Besides, using adsense is optional... no ones grabbing your mouse.

The next time someone tries to discourage you from earning money online, ask them why they feel that way. Ask them if they've ever earned any money online before. When they tell you that they haven't (which they most likely will) then you tell them to beat it! and continue writing your article.

Take Care & Happy Blogging,

Antonio

Can I earn a full-time income on the internet?

This must be the most asked question of our times... and the answer is..... I don't know. I haven't achieved that level of success on the internet yet, so I couldn't answer that honestly. What I can tell you is that there are people earning full time incomes with web based businesses right now. In fact, there are web based businesses that pay hundreds and thousands of peoples full time salaries.

Just take a look at Richard Rosenblatt, it's reported that he sold MySpace to Rupert Murdoch for upwards of $500 million. Then you got Ashley Qualls and her $70K a month WhateverLife.com, which is a free MySpace layouts website . Just take a look around the web and I'm sure you'll find many other profitable websites as well. There's Facebook, eBay, Squidoo, and a slew of others.

OK, I still want to know: Can I Make Money on the Web?

It depends on a number of different factors, but the key ingredients lie within your plan. You will need to have a plan that outlines exactly how you will go about earning money. Your plan should be highly detailed and should include topics like: How much time you will invest working on your business, how you will spend your time (down to the minute), how you will handle creative differences amongst your team, and how you will go about growing the business financially.

A lot of people want to make money on the web but have no idea where to start. First things first, you have to make a plan. If you start without a plan it's very likely that you wont get far with your internet business. Don't buy into the misconception that you can become a millionaire overnight with no work or effort on your end, as this is simply not true. You should be prepared to write niche-specific articles, and should also take the time to learn about SEO, social networking, and using video-sharing sites to promote your business. That's just to get started, there are so many other things to learn about when it comes to online marketing, but I think what I mentioned above is enough to get you off to a nice start.

What is Your Plan to Earn Money?

You must have some sort of strategic plan for earning money online. Whether it's building heavily visited sites so that you can earn money from advertising, building members only websites with super valuable - high demand information, adult websites, or selling your own product. Whether your products are digital or physical is totally up to you. Online business, just like brick and mortar businesses, require hard work and dedication for them to become successful. So be prepared to work for your money, even if it only is during the start-up phase.

Once you've figured out how you are planning to make money online, you need to plot out the exact techniques that you will use to actually make money. What I mean is... if you are planning on building high traffic sites to earn advertising dollars off of, what will you do to get that traffic over to your sites? Will you upload videos to YouTube every day/week/month? Will you keep a daily blog? In other words you need to set tasks and set a schedule for accomplishing those tasks.

Creative Differences

Something else that I think is super important is to have a formula for dealing with any disagreements or creative differences within your team. You will not be able to predict every single scenario, but preparing for the most likely to arise is a smart move. I believe it's a smart move to have a plan in place at the beginning because it will save you time later on down the line.

For example, you might run into a situation where you and your business partners all have different visions for the new color scheme of your site re-design. If you have, lets say, a voting system in place for situations like this you will be able to resolve the problem rather quickly. As opposed to taking two or three more meetings to finally decide on the new color scheme. Be creative, perhaps you and your team want to sit down and think of all the possible scenarios that might arise and create a resolution plan for them.

Financial Growth

The last thing I want to cover in this post is financial growth. How will you go about growing your company / business financially? You must have a savings plan in effect if you plan on growing your business. I know a couple of people who are in business for themselves, but that do not have savings accounts. They earn money and spend it all, without even putting 5% towards savings. These same people are the ones I hear complaining all the time about bills, late charges, and over-drafts. Just because you can afford to drive an Aston Martin right now, doesn't necessarily mean that you should go out and buy one.

If your company earns $5000 a month, you should not be spending $5000 a month. Out of every job that you finish, you should make it a point to save some money. Imagine if you only saved $2000 a month for the next two years. At the end of those two years your company would be worth just about $50,000. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why religiously saving a portion of your income is a brilliant idea. To make a long story short... invest some time into creating a savings plan, you'll thank yourself later and kick yourself if you don't.

Take Care,

Antonio

Creating Cash with Content

Creating cash with content is a very interesting concept. You basically create useful content that others can benefit from, publish it to the web, promote your site in any way possible, and begin earning cash from Google Ads and/or affiliate marketing. At least that is the general concept behind it. Whether or not you will actually generate any income through regularly updated content depends on a number of factors.

If cash is what you're seeking, the content you provide on your website must be extremely interesting or should help your visitor answer a question, solve a problem, or learn something new. You want to keep fresh interesting content on your website to keep your visitors coming back for more again and again. Also, if you're content is really intriguing people will help promote your website by word of mouth, which is the best kind of marketing.

One way to earn money is by displaying advertisements on your website. You can sign up for Google's adsense program for free, providing that you have a website or blog with content on it. Make sure that you have at least a few pages of content or a few posts in your blog before applying for the adsense program. Google actually checks your site for content, and if you don't have any or have very little, they will reject your application into the adsense program.

Another way to make money with a content based business is with affiliate programs. With affiliate programs you promote other peoples products and get paid a commission when sales are made. Most affiliate programs are free to join and can be found easily by conducting a search in your favorite search engine. You should join affiliate programs that offer products and/or services that are related to your site. Your visitors will be more likely to click on ads that are relevant to the information they are on your site looking for in the first place.

There are other streams of income that can be created with a highly sought after, content-rich website. For example, selling ad space or writing sponsored blog posts is also said to be a major bread winner on the world wide web. Since I have no experience with either of those two things yet, I won't be getting into them today. Once I've written a few sponsored posts and sell some advertising space on one of my websites I'll post about my experiences.

Take Care,

Antonio

The Truth About Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing - Guest Editorial

Joe Stewart says it how it is in his article: The Truth About Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing. You definitely don't want to miss what he has to say, especially if you yourself are looking to break into the exciting world of affiliate marketing.

And without further a due, here is the article:

Author: Joe Stewart

Are you interested in making money in the affiliate marketing arena? There are a lot of reasons why people are excited about doing this, money, independence, prestige, saying goodbye to their j.o.b.(stands for "just over broke) once and for all, but there are probably a lot of questions that you'd like to have answered before you "jump right in", am I right? You're probably wondering things like "is affiliate marketing for real"? Is it easy to do, I mean, do I have to be super smart? Do I have to have a lot of detailed knowledge? Are people really making money? And probably about a thousand other questions too. Let's start small and get through these first few, fair enough?

#1. Is affiliate marketing for real? - Yes, affiliate marketing is for real. Many merchants online and off have seen the value of affiliate marketing and have made huge sums of money off of the efforts of their affiliates. By leveraging the efforts of affiliates, many of whom have huge mailing lists of their own, companies don't have to worry about paying as much for advertising. They simply pay out a commission and watch the sales roll in.

#2. Is it easy to do, I mean, do I have to be super smart? - Nothing worthwhile is ever "easy", however, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to be an affiliate. Start out with things that you already know a lot about and you'll soon be on the right track.

#3. See #2.

#4. Are people really making money? - Yes, although it takes a special kind of person to become what's known as a "super affiliate". Most super affiliates earn six figures annually and some earn seven figures and more. Some "mere mortals" still earn enough to ditch the day job. It depends on a lot of things like the niche you choose, your work habits, etc.

The best advice I can give you is to find someone that's doing what you want to do and start learning everything you can about them and what they do. Don't be afraid to spend a few bucks on your education either. Nothing in life is free and with the constant changes of the internet your education will never end so get used to it. Now roll up your sleeves and get to work!

Don't get Discouraged, Follow Your Dreams

It can be pretty hard explaining affiliate marketing to someone who has no clue of what you're talking about. Even after explaining it thoroughly and giving them real world examples they always seem to just stand there scratching their heads.

"How ya gonna earn any money just typing into a computer all day long?"

Is what they usually ask... Over and over and over again!

I don't even try explaining it anymore, now I just tell everybody that I build websites. I once tried explaining the concept of an online content business to a friend of mine and he just couldn't get it... He said that the idea of an online content business sounded like a waste of time, and that I should invest my time and efforts into something more constructive.

Those words made me start doing some thinking. I began thinking to myself, what if he's right..what if I am just really wasting my time? what if affiliate marketing & this online advertising stuff is really just a waste of my time?

I thought about it for a while but I didn't let it possess me. I look at it like this, some people are mechanics and some aren't. The same can apply to anything, including affiliate marketing. Everyone can't do everything, that's what makes this such an interesting world to live in..

The moral of the story is... Follow your dreams. If you have a passion for something, pursue it. Don't let anything or anybody discourage you.

Have a Great Weekend,

Antonio

My First Sale as an Affiliate Marketer

I remember my first sale as an affiliate marketer. I don't quite remember the name of the company, however, it was a flower delivery website and my commission check was a whopping $7.00.

It was that $7.00 check that really made me realize the power of affiliate marketing. Until hat point I must admit that I was a bit skeptical of the whole affiliate marketing thing. I thought for sure that the merchants would rip me off and keep my earned commissions!

I've made a few sales here and there as an affiliate marketer, nothing out of this world though.. In the following months I plan to step it up a notch or two with my affiliate marketing efforts. Hopefully I will see an increase in the amount of affiliate earnings coming my way.

Anyhow, I originally began writing this post as a means of inspiration for anybody aspiring to become an affiliate marketer. Yes, affiliate marketing is real. No, it isn't something that somebody made up in order to trick you into promoting their services for free!

Here's a few tips for those of you that might need a little help getting started.

  1. Find a Niche that interests you.

  2. Study that Niche and find out as much information as you can about it.

  3. Plan the structure of your Site in detail.

  4. Create your own Opt-In mailing list.

  5. Create quality content for your Site / Blog.

  6. Optimize your content.

  7. Promote your Site / Blog.

Starting an affiliate marketing business is easy. Running and maintaining a successful affiliate marketing business is the tricky part. It's definitely not impossible though. Take a look at the web from an affiliate marketers point of view for a while.. If you pay attention you'll notice that there are quite a few very high traffic sites on the web right now... They all have some form of advertising on them; whether it's Google Adsense, Affiliate Products, or some other form of paid advertising. My point is, behind every successful website lies a couple of very happy humans.

If you want some apple pie, all you have to do is bake it.

Till Next Time,

Antonio

*As with anything in life (especially when it involves money) use common sense and exercise caution, as some merchants will try to rip you off! Always monitor your links and investigate any activity that you think is suspicious. Also, remember to remove all links to non paying merchants' websites, this includes any previous posts that you might have placed their link in as well.

Tips For Affiliate Marketing With Digital Products - Guest Editorial

Author: P. Majestyck

As you may know, digital products are as hot today as ever before. Even though you may simply use these products on a regular basis, you should definitely consider much more. What does this mean exactly? Simply put, you may want to look into the ways that you can turn the popularity of digital products into a lot of money. If you do not want to sell your own products, the best way to do this is through affiliate marketing.

With affiliate marketing you will be doing nothing more than selling products that others have put together. No, you will not earn the full price of the product, but anytime you are responsible for a sale you will be paid a certain percentage. When you find good affiliate marketing programs it is safe to say that you can make plenty of money.

Here are three tips for affiliate marketing with digital products.

1. When it comes to affiliate marketing you need to have a great website. This is where you will push the different products that you are trying to sell. Remember, a good website will go a long way in increasing traffic. And with more traffic you will have a better chance of increasing sales.

2. Not all affiliate marketing programs are the same, so you should not treat them as such. Instead, you will want to find the digital products that are really hot. And not only do you want to push the ones that are really hot, but you want to do so with ones that have a high payout as well. Remember, the higher percentage you receive from your affiliate the more money you are going to make in the long run.

3. If all possible, attempt to push the products that you have actually used. When you are trying to sell products you believe in you will be much more convincing in the long run. This is not always easy to do, but if you have the chance to try out certain products before selling you should do so. You will be amazed at what this can do for your affiliate marketing strategy.

Digital products are being purchased at a high rate of speed in today's day and age. If you want to get in on this without having to create your own product, you should definitely look into affiliate marketing. This will give you the chance to sell other people's products, while making good money at the same time. Some of the most successful digital product affiliates are earning thousands of dollars per month. If you are willing to learn about the products that are out there and how affiliate marketing works, you can be next.

How To Become An Affiliate

Becoming an affiliate is one of the easiest business propositions out there, which is why it is so quickly gaining in popularity. Businesses want to have as many affiliate marketers working for them as possible, after all, it's really just a form of free advertising. For this reasons, businesses make it very easy to sign up for an affiliate program. Find a program, sign up for free, and just like that you're an affiliate.

The most important part of affiliate marketing boils down to one word: relevancy. In order to be a successful affiliate, you need to choose partnership programs that correspond to the nature of your affiliate site. So if you are running a travel affiliate site, link to affiliate sites for airfare, travel packages, clothing, and other relevant sites. Linking to a pet product affiliate doesn't make so much sense.

This is core to why experienced affiliate marketers will have a stable of sites. They'll have their travel hub, pet hub, book hub, and so on. Some affiliate marketing links will cross over, for instance, everyone needs credit cards and even airfare deals could find a home on a pet site. The basic rule of thumb is that affiliate links should be on topic.

If you're just starting out, one method to starting an affiliate site is to thumb through affiliate marketing directories and see what affiliate marketing programs interest you: do they offer a good product, do they have good terms, do they have a good rating? You could then design your website around a particular type of product based on the affiliate program you have found in an affiliate directory. If you already have a running website, check directories for new affiliate marketing programs that correspond to the site.

At times, less is more. There are literally hundreds of affiliate deals out there with good terms and a good product. Don't just cram hundreds of links onto one page. Your affiliate links should be easy to read and access, and they should be organic: they should appear to be a part of the site, rather than an obvious moneymaking opportunity. The more relevant these affiliate sites are to the main theme of the site, the more likely it is web surfers will click on the link and make a purchase.

Difference Between An Affiliate & Super Affiliate

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Super Affiliate! Corny, but "super affiliate" is the new buzzword for affiliates who are both ambitious and successful at affiliate marketing. There are wild claims online about affiliate marketing: Make Millions Overnight! Never Work Again! Unfortunately, these claims are usually false. To go from being a plain affiliate to super affiliate takes a lot of work. In short, you need to be an affiliate of steel.

The vast majority of affiliate marketing sites online are run by people who have no great interest in turning a huge profit. For example, you'll find thousands of blogs where people put up a few Amazon listings and/or Google links on the off chance that a passing browser will click on them. That's all well and good, but this is no way to make a dent in the affiliate marketing game. To be a super affiliate, you need to treat affiliate marketing as a job, not just something that you do on the side to put a couple of bucks in your pocket.

There is a misconception that affiliate marketing is not a real business. After all, the affiliate is not putting out a product. This is patently false. Even though an affiliate marketer is not manufacturing a product, he or she is still offering the product up for sale. An affiliate marketer still needs to be in charge of search engine optimization, custom content, quality web design, financial management, and everything else that goes into running a successful e-business. As with any business, an affiliate marketing plan is only as strong as the amount of work you put into it.

A super affiliate will be able to turn as hefty a profit as a standard business—several sales a day on a number of different fronts. Remember, successful affiliate marketers don't necessarily stop at one site. They set up a variety of affiliate sites with a good web address, quality web design, and lucrative affiliate marketing opportunities. Additionally, once you start selling at an accelerated rate, some affiliate programs will promote you from regular affiliate to super affiliate. If you start sending sales and traffic to a business, they will reward you with better terms.

This isn't an easy proposition, but it is possible. Make sure that an affiliate program has a corresponding super affiliate program in place—better terms for more sales. Even if they don't, an affiliate with good terms up front can really pay off if you're able to make a several sales a month. Affiliate programs with great terms are also sometimes referred to as super affiliates. Find these and you know you'll have a good marketing in place at the start.
