Don't get Discouraged, Follow Your Dreams

It can be pretty hard explaining affiliate marketing to someone who has no clue of what you're talking about. Even after explaining it thoroughly and giving them real world examples they always seem to just stand there scratching their heads.

"How ya gonna earn any money just typing into a computer all day long?"

Is what they usually ask... Over and over and over again!

I don't even try explaining it anymore, now I just tell everybody that I build websites. I once tried explaining the concept of an online content business to a friend of mine and he just couldn't get it... He said that the idea of an online content business sounded like a waste of time, and that I should invest my time and efforts into something more constructive.

Those words made me start doing some thinking. I began thinking to myself, what if he's right..what if I am just really wasting my time? what if affiliate marketing & this online advertising stuff is really just a waste of my time?

I thought about it for a while but I didn't let it possess me. I look at it like this, some people are mechanics and some aren't. The same can apply to anything, including affiliate marketing. Everyone can't do everything, that's what makes this such an interesting world to live in..

The moral of the story is... Follow your dreams. If you have a passion for something, pursue it. Don't let anything or anybody discourage you.

Have a Great Weekend,

Antonio

My First Sale as an Affiliate Marketer

I remember my first sale as an affiliate marketer. I don't quite remember the name of the company, however, it was a flower delivery website and my commission check was a whopping $7.00.

It was that $7.00 check that really made me realize the power of affiliate marketing. Until hat point I must admit that I was a bit skeptical of the whole affiliate marketing thing. I thought for sure that the merchants would rip me off and keep my earned commissions!

I've made a few sales here and there as an affiliate marketer, nothing out of this world though.. In the following months I plan to step it up a notch or two with my affiliate marketing efforts. Hopefully I will see an increase in the amount of affiliate earnings coming my way.

Anyhow, I originally began writing this post as a means of inspiration for anybody aspiring to become an affiliate marketer. Yes, affiliate marketing is real. No, it isn't something that somebody made up in order to trick you into promoting their services for free!

Here's a few tips for those of you that might need a little help getting started.

  1. Find a Niche that interests you.

  2. Study that Niche and find out as much information as you can about it.

  3. Plan the structure of your Site in detail.

  4. Create your own Opt-In mailing list.

  5. Create quality content for your Site / Blog.

  6. Optimize your content.

  7. Promote your Site / Blog.

Starting an affiliate marketing business is easy. Running and maintaining a successful affiliate marketing business is the tricky part. It's definitely not impossible though. Take a look at the web from an affiliate marketers point of view for a while.. If you pay attention you'll notice that there are quite a few very high traffic sites on the web right now... They all have some form of advertising on them; whether it's Google Adsense, Affiliate Products, or some other form of paid advertising. My point is, behind every successful website lies a couple of very happy humans.

If you want some apple pie, all you have to do is bake it.

Till Next Time,

Antonio

*As with anything in life (especially when it involves money) use common sense and exercise caution, as some merchants will try to rip you off! Always monitor your links and investigate any activity that you think is suspicious. Also, remember to remove all links to non paying merchants' websites, this includes any previous posts that you might have placed their link in as well.

High Performance Affiliate Marketing - an Ebook by Jeremy Palmer

Claim your Free Zlio Shop Today!Jeremy Palmer has been making some noise lately with his ebook: High Performance Affiliate Marketing. Jeremy claims that his book will "show you everything you need to know to generate massive profits as an affiliate".

After being scammed on ebay about three years ago I stopped buying ebooks. The ebook I had purchased was full of affiliate links and links to free resell ebooks and didn't contain any valuable information as the author had claimed on the auction page. I felt ridiculous for having paypaled this guy $9.99 for some useless digital information. I thought to myself... "Gee, I could've found this info on my own for free had I searched Google long enough".

That same day I decided to never purchase an ebook again. Every now and then I would see advertisements and come across long sales pages for all sorts of ebooks while surfing the web looking for ways to make money. I'd always close the tab immediately and say to myself "you're not getting my money, you swindler!"

High Performance Affiliate Marketing just might be the one to finally bring me out of my "I'll never purchase another ebook again" frame of mind. I noticed a couple differences between the traditional ebooks found online and my latest find with Jeremy's ebook. The first thing I noticed is that there is no ultra long sales page to try to confuse you into making a purchase. The second thing I noticed is that he offers a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee.

Something else that makes Jeremy stand out amongst the hundreds of self-proclaimed marketing guru's is the fact that he is a 2005 CJ Horizon Award Winner, a Google Advertising Professional, a Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador, and a certified Commission Junction Performer (He provides links on his website for you to verify this information). It's OK, I'm probably just as skeptical as you are, if not more..

Anyhow, I haven't really made up my mind yet on whether or not to buy this ebook. It has received pretty good reviews from what I've read so far, but I'll most likely be conducting research on it for the next several days before I make my decision.

Take Care,

Antonio

You Can't Have an Online Shop with Zlio in just 5 minutes

Claim your Free Zlio Shop Today!A couple weeks ago I wrote a post titled: Create a Money-Earning Online Shop in just 5 minutes. Having just found out about Zlio, I guess you can say I was a tad bit over excited. I had just finished the initial setting up of my Zlio Shop when I decided to write a post about them.

Looking back at that post, I feel that I may have steered a couple people in the wrong direction. Perhaps even into believing that you could actually have a fully functional, money-earning, hassle free, auto pilot business set up in just 5 minutes.

That is definitely not the case and I just wanted to clear things up for anybody out there reading this blog. While I do see a potential for earning a decent amount of money utilizing free zlio shops, I know that it will not happen in 5 minutes. Please do not let anyone else out there tell you otherwise.

I guess the reason for me titling my previous post about Zlio: Create a Money-Earning Online Shop in just 5 minutes, was due to the fact that I had just discovered them and was super excited about their features, I was especially thrilled about being able to integrate adsense with my zlio shop as I had just recently been approved for the program.

Don't get discouraged, you can have an online zlio shop in 5 minutes. You just wont have any products in it..And no one will know about it.. What a way to celebrate a Grand Opening, eh!! But no, seriously. I hope you understand the point that I'm trying to get across here, If you want to take (earning money with zlio shops) seriously, then you will have to carry your fair share of the workload.

Take Care,

Antonio

Tips For Affiliate Marketing With Digital Products - Guest Editorial

Author: P. Majestyck

As you may know, digital products are as hot today as ever before. Even though you may simply use these products on a regular basis, you should definitely consider much more. What does this mean exactly? Simply put, you may want to look into the ways that you can turn the popularity of digital products into a lot of money. If you do not want to sell your own products, the best way to do this is through affiliate marketing.

With affiliate marketing you will be doing nothing more than selling products that others have put together. No, you will not earn the full price of the product, but anytime you are responsible for a sale you will be paid a certain percentage. When you find good affiliate marketing programs it is safe to say that you can make plenty of money.

Here are three tips for affiliate marketing with digital products.

1. When it comes to affiliate marketing you need to have a great website. This is where you will push the different products that you are trying to sell. Remember, a good website will go a long way in increasing traffic. And with more traffic you will have a better chance of increasing sales.

2. Not all affiliate marketing programs are the same, so you should not treat them as such. Instead, you will want to find the digital products that are really hot. And not only do you want to push the ones that are really hot, but you want to do so with ones that have a high payout as well. Remember, the higher percentage you receive from your affiliate the more money you are going to make in the long run.

3. If all possible, attempt to push the products that you have actually used. When you are trying to sell products you believe in you will be much more convincing in the long run. This is not always easy to do, but if you have the chance to try out certain products before selling you should do so. You will be amazed at what this can do for your affiliate marketing strategy.

Digital products are being purchased at a high rate of speed in today's day and age. If you want to get in on this without having to create your own product, you should definitely look into affiliate marketing. This will give you the chance to sell other people's products, while making good money at the same time. Some of the most successful digital product affiliates are earning thousands of dollars per month. If you are willing to learn about the products that are out there and how affiliate marketing works, you can be next.

Google Adsense Mobile.

Google announced the arrival of their all new Adsense for Mobile program earlier this week. It works the same way as regular adsense except it's only for websites that are optimized for mobile browsers.

If you are currently an adsense publisher you can start benefiting from Google for Mobile immediately, providing that your website is optimized for mobile browsers of course. To get started, just log in to your account and click on the adsense setup tab, then select adsense for mobile. The rest of the process should be pretty much self explanatory.

The future looks bright for mobile content publishers and online marketers alike. According to Google, there are currently more mobile devices worldwide than personal computers and televisions combined. Content Publishers can now monetize their online "mobile" sites, and marketers have the opportunity to tap into a new market. It seems like a win-win situation for now, only time will tell if indeed it will be the next big earner for Google.

Another tid bit of information I found very interesting comes from a Mobinet mobile communications study that was conducted in April of 2005. After interviewing 4,000 mobile device users in 21 countries, research concludes that more than half of all mobile handsets are less than a year old, with most having full access to the web. Analysts are also predicting that wireless will be the communication channel of choice in new, up and coming markets where hard-wired communication lines are scarce.

If you ask me, I'd say now is a good time to start getting your dot mobi on. With all the mobile devices on the market and all the hoopla going on about mobile adsense, mobile shopping, etc... It's only a matter of time before all the good domain names get taken up.

Happy mobi hunting!

Web Site Optimization

All optimization is not equal. There is such a rush to optimize a website for search engines that people don't realize that some SEO techniques can be self-defeating. Either a lot of work will go into a particular type of optimization that is fruitless or it can be downright harmful for search engine ranking. A high search-engine ranking is the holy grail of search engine optimization, but make sure you put your energy in the right place.

The first two issues involve web design: don't use flash or frames when designing a website. These won't get you banned by search engines;but the site might be ignored entirely. While you can use some flash animation within a site, overuse of flash should be avoided. Search engines like text, not fancy graphics. A flash-heavy site could be passed over. The same goes for a site written with frames;frame-heavy sites confuse search engines so the sites are not properly indexed. The text on a framed site is hidden within the frame, so even if there is ample content within the frame, it will not be read correctly. Verdict: avoid it.

When writing content, make sure the content makes sense. In the early days of the web, people went keyword crazy. They would cram a huge paragraph of keywords throughout a page. This worked for a little while. Now search engines are wise to it and this technique can lead to a site being banned. Website owners try to trick search engines by including the keywords within actual content, but if the keywords are too close together, this could also lead to problems.

Another issue is spamdexing. Never use keywords that don't apply specifically to a site. This can most often be seen with site owners using adult-themed keywords to bring in unrelated searches. This will cause a site to be quickly red-flagged. Using invisible text is a bad idea as well. Invisible text is the same color as the background. It can be read by spiders, but can't be read by human eyes. The problem here is that spiders now recognize this technique and it will be red-flagged.

Generally, content should be useful and informative. You can include specific keywords within content, but if you provide enough content, these keywords will be covered automatically without jeopardizing the site with picky search engine spiders. The use of quality content is two-fold: it's a better way to optimize with search engines and web surfers will spend a longer time on the site reading articles or other content. The trick is to create trust;both with spiders and real people.
